Paw Print Press was founded in 1977 with the first Christmas Card produced by Paul Murray as a silk screen print. Gail assisted. In the following years the Murray's Christmas cards evolved through a series of Paul's silk screens, and eventually Gail played a larger roll in the process, taking over the bulk of design and production in other media. Torn paper collage, tissue paper collage, paint collage, photos, postage stamps, sewn cards, embossing, paint spatters, rhinestones, music, hand made paper, marbled paper, abstract paint among other media all found their way into the Murray's Christmas cards. Christmas cards evolved into other cards for Gail's personal use: thank you notes, birthday cards for friends and family, Valentine's Day cards, anniversary and sympathy cards. All these cards were produced under the banner of Paw Print Press. The Paws of Paw Print Press have been and always will be the Murray Cats. In honor of all the Furry Murrays, Paw Print Press is named for them. The Furry Murray's, past and present since 1977:
