December 2011
It's been awhile...
But that's a good sign. It means we've been really busy. Tempis is Fugiting...
Classes We will teach three or four classes this year. In early summer we usually teach a class for Artisan Santa Fe www.artisan-santafe.com. That is followed by a Taos Workshop hosted by the Taos Art School www.taosartschool.org and in September we will be teaching a class for Dakota Art Pastels www.dakotapastels.com in Mt. Vernon, Washington, north of Seattle. I don't want to teach more than four classes per year, so I could possibly do one more class -- perhaps someplace out-of-state. 'Just thought I'd put that out there...
About Paul
Artists Statement/Bio...
The following links are sites or artists which we regard highly. If you have time we hope you will visit them.
Tom Berg: A very thoughtful Artist. Known mostly for his "Chair" images, he has moved on to other subject matter. If you ever get a chance to see one of his original pieces, you will see his technical mastery.
Pastel Society of America (PSA): I became a signature member in February 2000
International Association of Pastel Societies (IAPS)
Pastel Society of New Mexico (PSNM): My home Pastel Society. There are many fine artists with work in this site...
The Pastel Journal: More about pastels, paintings and artists. I was the Juror for the Landscape section in 2010.
Girault Pastels: I use them and have done demo's for them. Excellent pastels!
Wingspread Collectors Guide: All the artists in NM. A beautiful booklet/magazine.
Weems Galleries: Montgomery east of Louisana and Plaza Don Luis in Old Town Albuquerque
Great American Pastels: My favorite Pastels. Check out the 78 Color Southwest Landscape Set I picked and the cover art for the set.
Michele and Gray Chisholm: Excellent pottery and Celtic jewelry
Artist's Magazine: I have articles in the October 07 and September 2010 issue!

Pastel, 22.5 x 17"

"Siga el Rio" is a finalist in Artists Magazine Annual Competition. This is the sixth painting in the last three years which have been finalists!
Gail's pen & ink which I got to keep. I get lucky from time to time...
